Azul

Azul turns a shared selection of patterned tiles into a compact spatial puzzle. It suits players who like a readable board and the occasional difficult choice about what to leave for someone else.

How to play

The rulebook at the table covers the details. Here is the shape of a game.

Publisher’s rules & information
  1. Earn points by placing tiles on your wall in useful combinations.
  2. Take every tile of one colour from a factory display or the centre, and add them to one pattern line.
  3. At the end of a round, each completed pattern line moves one tile to the wall; connected tiles score, while overflow on the floor line costs points.
  4. The game ends after a round in which someone completes a horizontal wall row; add the end-game bonuses and compare totals.
